This terrarium almost became a lesson in failure. This terrarium almost became a lesson in failure. 🌿☀️

A few months ago, a hot market day burned nearly everything inside. Leaves crisped up, plants melted away, and it looked like all that work had been for nothing.

But I left it alone.

Today, tiny ferns are returning, the ground cover is filling back in, and this little polka dot begonia is pushing out leaves no bigger than my thumbnail. Yesterday, I even added an angel wing begonia cutting to help provide a little shade while everything continues to recover. 💚

One of the hardest things for plant people is doing nothing.

Not repotting.
Not replacing.
Not giving up.

Just waiting.

Sometimes plants remind us that recovery doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one tiny leaf at a time.

And sometimes those tiny leaves become something beautiful. 🌱✨

Two weeks ago, I made a decision that a lot of pla Two weeks ago, I made a decision that a lot of plant parents struggle with.

I cut off a damaged leaf on my Thai Constellation. 🌿✂️

At the time, it felt a little scary. We get attached to leaves, even the imperfect ones. We worry that cutting something back will set the plant back.

But look at her now.

Right where that cut was made, she’s pushing out an entirely new growth point, a brand-new stem, and soon a brand-new leaf with a completely new pattern of variegation. ✨

It got me thinking about how often we hold on to things simply because we’re afraid of what we’ll lose.

Sometimes pruning isn’t destruction.
Sometimes it’s making room.

Making room for new growth.
Making room for new opportunities.
Making room for something even more beautiful than what was there before.

Nature has a funny way of reminding us that letting go isn’t always the end of the story. Sometimes it’s the beginning of a better one. 💚🌱

People see the markets, the events, the rare plants, and the fun social media moments.

What they don’t see are the late nights, the early mornings, the hours spent watering, repotting, cleaning, packing, unpacking, and caring for hundreds of living things from a small apartment.

Sometimes I think about how many people wake up dreading Monday morning.

Burned out.
Overworked.
Counting down to Friday.

And while I’m definitely tired today, it’s a different kind of tired.

The kind that comes from building something you believe in.

The kind that comes from chasing a dream that once felt impossible.

Don’t get me wrong. Running a business is hard. Some days are really hard.

But I’d rather spend my Sunday cleaning plants I love than recovering from a week I hated.

That’s the difference. 💚🌿

Plant shopping? No. Plant people supporting other Plant shopping? No.

Plant people supporting other small businesses? Absolutely. 🌿💚

Today Monika and I stopped by the market to visit my favorite empanada lady, and as expected, she did not disappoint.

I enjoyed a mushroom lentil and a vegan guava empanada, while Monika tried a chicken empanada for the very first time ever.

The verdict? She loved it. 😂✨

One of my favorite things about markets is discovering amazing local vendors, supporting small businesses, and sharing those experiences with friends. Good food, good people, and a little plant talk mixed in… sounds like a perfect day to me. 🌱

Some people you follow online for years, and someh Some people you follow online for years, and somehow life never lines up for you to meet in person.

Today, in true South Florida fashion, I finally got the chance. 🌧️🌿💚

Between the rain showers, I stopped by her market to support her, give her a big hug, and finally meet someone I’ve been wanting to connect with for a long time. @plantmuthalova

The best part of this plant community isn’t always the plants. It’s the people. The friendships, the support, and the genuine connections that grow along the way.

Even Malcolm, our Plant Manager, was excited to see her. 🐶😂

Rainy days, good people, and a whole lot of plant love. I’d call that a pretty perfect day. 🌱✨

Modern city plant life chronicles. 🌿🏙️✨ I wanted Modern city plant life chronicles. 🌿🏙️✨

I wanted a greenhouse, but apartment living said, “Best I can do is a kitchen island.” 😂

So today I’m cleaning, reorganizing, and refreshing my little countertop greenhouse where some of my baby plants are growing up beautifully. 💚

No giant sunroom.
No backyard greenhouse.
Just creativity, grow lights, and making the most of the space I have.

One thing plants have taught me is that growth doesn’t require perfect conditions. Sometimes you work with what you’ve got and let nature do the rest. 🌱

And honestly? These little babies seem pretty happy with their luxury city apartment lifestyle. ✨🌿
